The accompanying book [512 pages in 12' by 12' format] is, in essence, a fully-illustrated travelogue with 500 photos of which about 200 previously unpublished.

James Brown and Elvis Presley were good friends and admired each others talents. James Brown said of Elvis: 'I wasn't just a fan, I was his brother. He said I was good and I said he was good; we never argued about that. Elvis was a hard worker, dedicated, and God loved him ... I love him and hope to see him in heaven. David English author of the FTD book release; Welcome Home Elvis has contacted us with some extra - and very interesting - information about the book. In regard to the CD we were most interested to learn that the mono CD of Elvis Is Back, was recently found in the UK. There has been plenty of speculation as to exactly what the master was. Then we have four [4] new pages of sample text from the book. As David explains; 'The idea first came to me to write an article about the Elvis Is Back Sessions, which then became too large, and it then expanded over a period of two years. This originally consisted of mainly text of each song having a detailed history, with songwriters, musicians, (in the form of the book 'Writing for the King') The book then expanded further to include the Sinatra Timex show and now consists of the journey to Miami using original newspaper articles and photos which have probably not been seen since they were originally written.

Elvis Presley's Ferrari Dino 308 GT4

1:18 diecast model of Elvis Presley's Ferrari Dino 308 GT4. The 308 GT4 is a very important car in Ferrari's history: it was their first road car to have a mid-engine, V8 layout. It was also the first Ferrari to sport bodywork designed by Bertone. Elvis decided to buy the black Dino in October 1976, and add it to his already extensive collection of exotic cars. The Ferrari is currently on display at the Elvis Presley Automobile Museum in Graceland. Mattel has done a great job replicating the King’s Dino. The spoked wheels look very nice, and we're particularly impressed that Mattel has recreated the car's orange oil filter.

Joan Deary and Elvis Presley

Joan Deary was executive in charge of the Elvis' catalog for RCA records. Deary joined RCA in 1954 as Steve Sholes secretary. In 1972 she became assistant to RCA vice president Harry Jenkins, whose job it was to handle the Elvis Presley material. She produced many albums for RCA, including the Elvis Aron Presley 25th Anniversary Album set. Deary worked out of the rca building in hollywood until her retirement in 1987.

JAT Publishing have released a great

promo video demonstrating just how good the photo book Elvis '69 will be. The book will cover the whole of 1969 including the film 'Change of Habit' with 128 pages containing over 160 photos, mostly in color. It has now been scheduled for release the first Tuesday in June. Following Elvis '69 will be Atlanta In Black And White and King Creole a hardback edition with over 250 photos and JATs look into the mystery surrounding the missing 'King Creole' tapes. Memphis Recording Service, 'Blue Hawaii : The Expanded Alternate Album' CD/Book package earlier than anticipated, before the end of this month. The CD is an expanded edition of the original soundtrack album originally released in 1961. It contains many previously unreleased out-takes and alternate versions of the soundtrack recording including Elvis' number 1 hit, 'Can’t Help Falling in Love'. As a bonus, the CD is accompanied by a 40 page book containing many rare and unpublished photographs taken on and off the set. FTD will release Another Saturday Night in their 5" Soundboard Concert CD series at the end of April. If one place is to be picked as the most important in the career of Elvis Presley, it is without doubt Shreveport in the northwest part of Louisiana. The exposure that Elvis got through the radio broadcast of The Louisiana Hayride in 1954-56 was one of the key factors of establishing the early part of his career. With the exception of Las Vegas, there is no place where Elvis played more shows, and his return to the city in 1975 was like a homecoming to both Elvis and the many fans he had there since he started out. FTD have chosen to release the soundboard from the evening show of June 7, definitely a show that Elvis and the audience truly enjoy, and with a great set list featuring old and new favourites. 5" digipack with an eight-page booklet.
